Should I get the Smart Parts Ion or the Proto Slg 09 basic?

I am a beginner at paintball trying to get into the sport and I am looking for a gun. I want to know if I should get a smart parts ion or the Proto Slg 09 basic. I don't want to spend too much money but I don't want to have to buy another gun soon. I also want to know what hopper to get and what the cheapest hpa tank would be. I was also wondering If I should get some pants and slider shorts or if I should wait till I get better. Also I wanted to know what a really good mask would be.
