Should i kill Luke Rogers?

Should i kill off one of my characters?
His name is Luke Rogers. He's the best friend of the main character Brenton sykes.
Luke is Tall,Lankly, and kind of awkward, he has big green eyes, and his dad drinks and abuses him alot. He has a mom but she's in the same situation, afraid to call the police.
He smokes.

How should i kill him off?
Should i kill him off?
And if i he is going to die i want it to be at the end of the story.
 
Yea, maybe the kid catches the dad abusing the mom and comes to her aid but accidentally kills him. What do you think?
