if the Porsche is valued correctly(per Kelly blue book)and in good condition, then buy the Porsche.try to find some one to evaluate it,someone that is familiar with Porsche and make sure it is not a money pit.

...'not as good' car for 10K? I love fast cars and Porsches especially, There are a LOT of used 2001 Porshe Boxers on Cars.com, and some of them are around 10K with about 150K miles on them... should I buy a porsche? or just settle for like a Honda or something from 2010, 2011?

No, don't buy a Boxster for 10k.

That'll probably go from nought-to-the-repair-shop in 6.5 seconds and will be very expensive to fix. They're great cars and all...when they've been properly maintained. At that price point? They probably haven't been.

Call your insurance company first. That huge jump in premium alone will probably make up your mind for you.

Also, dial up the local Porsche dealer. Ask them how much a brake job is on a Boxster (not "Boxer"). Then call the Honda dealer and ask the same on a Civic/Accord. Ask the Porsche dealer how much it would be to replace a head gasket. If it still sounds inexpensive to you, then go for it.

I wouldn't touch a 10-year old Boxster with 150K miles. And if you plan on trying to get a loan for one, it'll be VERY difficult.
