Should I sue this T-Mobile representative?

Alright; Just got my bill for my phone, or looked at it, and it was OVER 300 DOLLARS.
I called and had a shit-fit, because I CANNOT afford that on minimum wage without going into some form of debt.
I told them off about how one of THEIR representatives told me I could stick with the plan I have and it wouldn't be charged. That I had a data plan and unlimited internet browsing.
NOPE.
He was wrong; he LIED and now T-Mobile won't drop the charges to my account.
I'm going to contact an old friend - he's a lawyer and hopefully will help me.
Damn am I pissed off.
A burger-flipping McDonalds employee can't afford 300 dollars on a phone bill..

yeah you should spend 1000 dollars on a lawyer 500 in court cost and miss a couple of days of work to find out that you did not get it in writing

Unless you have him on tape and your contract somehow contains a change or mistake you have no grounds to sue. I would call back T-Mobile and talk through things calmly and thoroughly to explain the situation. If you run into problems always escalate to a supervisor/manager above who you are speaking to. This works wonders with companies over the phone. Yeah you are not going to speak to the CEO or President but you will get some kind of resolution. Just always keep your composure and do not fly off the handle. Also remember most call centers can look into the charge and update your account retroactively if need be.
