Howdy everybody,
I am wondering if I should put Drew Brees on the Trading Block so that I can trade him away for one of the Top 5 RB's in a non-PPR league.
I have a feeling that I could trade Brees and potentially land either Chris Johnson/Adrian Peterson/Maurice Jones-Drew/Ray Rice for him.
I really unsure if I should even attempt trading Brees away. I only have a total of 2 QB's (Brees & Flacco) and our league requires us to start 2 QB's per week. If I do trade him away for a Elite RB, I will need to find 2 QB's on Draft day: 1 to replace Brees and 1 backup for my QB's bye weeks.
My Current RB stable prior to any transaction going through is:
Steven Jackson
Ronnie Brown
Rashard Mendenhall
Pierre Thomas
If I do trade and get one of the Top 5 RB's, I could then trade away one of my other RB's for another QB maybe.
I'm just not sure if I should try for a trade or if it is even the smart thing to do. I figure trading away Brees is almost always ill-advised. I would be weakening my QB position significantly and increasing my RB position by only a marginal amount. I honestly feel that logically I should not trade away Brees as the impact to my QB position would be to great but I'm really dying to snag a Top 5 RB. I'm really big on the Ravens so I would love to snag Ray Rice or maybe I could land CJ for Brees.
One last thing to mention is that this is the last "Keeper" year of our league which means that next year the whole league throws back ALL of their players and we re-draft from scratch to begin a new 5 year keeper period. So whatever mistakes I make this year, only have to be lived with for this year only and we all start anew next year!
Anyhow... Talk me into it or talk me out of it !!!! But please do talk and let me know what you think.
