Okay, so yesterday my girlfriend and i have gotten a VERY shy 3 month old Kitten by the name of Nyx. He was born a Feral, then caught maybe a month or so later (not really sure when the litter was caught) but he has come along way since then, and is the ONLY shy one out of his litter. Now with that said, we do have a 1 year old son, who loves Animals very much, and understands he needs to be gentle. He just makes excited noises and gently touches the cat when we bring Nyx near. He has been around Animals his whole life. A boxer and a big house cat that used to climb into the crib with him. Nyx is shy, yes, but he is shy in the way that once he gets fed up with us, he simply hides. He is sociable with my girlfriend and I, but we don't really know how to introduce him to the baby yet. I've placed his food and water dish beside the crib in hopes that it will help him get used to the baby, and in reverse. We've even placed him into the crib with the baby, and kept a close eye on the two of them. The Kitten did what he first did with the 2 of us, witch was curl up into a tight ball and simply sit there and when we helped the baby pet him, he relaxed his tail and lossend his ball a bit, but then tried to lay on Nyx like he used to with the old cat. We stopped him, of course, and then took the cat out. He is indeed curious about the baby, but we really need some advice on how to get the cat more comfortable around the baby to where he isn't afraid.
