Shy or not interested?

I have this friend that I really like, and I've been trying to figure out if he might like me back. He is a really shy person, so a lot of his body language and speech fall into a gray area for whether or not he's actually interested. I would think that he isn't into me, but then every once in a while, there's just this moment that couldn't be taken for anything but some kind (even tiny) of a connection. And his mom gives off signs that he might like me too. Am I just making something out of nothing, or could he have feelings for me? Also, what should I do (if anything)?

You need to make an advance at him. Even if it is something small, like touching his hand, or cuddling up to him when the opportunity presents itself. When you make advancements toward him, his reactions will tell you everything you need to know. But dont worry about rejection, and be confident in what you're doing. Just be yourself. There's nothing to lose here really. If he isn't taking the bait, give it another try some other way. If there is still no interest being shown, then i'd say he is probably not interested..
