Josh Hamilton was sick. Literally. Saturday night against the Toronto Blue Jays, Hamilton needed oxygen and an IV after the game. Despite not feeling well, the slugger for the Texas Rangers was a hero yet again.

With the Rangers down by a run in the 13th inning, Hamilton hit a two-run homer to give the Rangers an 8-7 victory. For the game, he was 2-for-6 with three RBIs. He’s now hitting .376 with 20 home runs and 53 RBIs.

Said Hamilton: “I’ve been seeing stars since the fifth inning. I hit a wall. I was light-headed and seeing those little stars.”

The win improved the Rangers to 29-18, tied with the Baltimore Orioles for the best record in the American League. In their division, Texas has a 6.5-game lead over the Los Angeles Angels.

And if Hamilton keeps hitting like this — even when he’s sick — the Rangers are going to keep on winning.
