buy a Verizon phone? i dont know what to do, do i buy a verizon phone? and if i do and it comes will the service from my alltel scoop work on the verizon phone?
I have Alltel U and I expected it to be shut off a while ago but it's still running. I'm guessing that you have Alltel's service as long as you have a contract. If you renew, it might be with Verizon. My Alltel U phone is a Verizon phone so they are magically compatible, though it requires a little extra work in the activation process. If you want Alltel service/contract, buy an Alltel phone. If you want Verizon, buy a Verizon phone. If you already have a contract, buy the phone from whoever the contract is with.
If you're really worried, call Verizon (I think their customer service might be better, though I'm not sure about it).
I wouldn't think that it matters. If you want a Verizon phone until they actually close the Alltel stores then get one for the Verizon network. I would assume that after they merge that Alltel phones will still work, I hope so anyway I am an Alltel customer. If you are worried about it I would call an Alltel store and just ask if your phone will still work.
