My husband has a lot of siblings, and we all pretty much live in the same town. His siblings live for partying (getting drunk) and hanging out, and just having enough money to get by, and if that means unemployment or depending on income tax return for awhile, then that's fine with them. My husband is totally different, he works hard and generally wants better things in life. We all have young kids ages 6 months to 4 years old, and there's a couple more on the way! Anyway, it's hard for us to hang out with them very often because we are just wanting different things in life. I'm also nervous because the kids just run around outside and I mean they could have a handful of snacks, drop them in the mud, and pick them up and eat them, no big deal. Now, I know kids will be kids, and a little playing in the mud won't hurt ya, but I don't know, eating food from the ground seems gross to me. I guess you could say they're a bunch of 'hillbilly's.' Now I didn't grow up rich by any means and I worked hard growing up and my dad was a country guy, but we were always well taken care of and had respect for others. It's hard not to go around them though when they are my family too now and I think our kids should grow up playing together. My husband and I are the ones that are kind of to ourselves though....how would you handle this situation?? Would you let all the kiddos run around even around drinking/smoking? Would you stay to yourself? I'm kind of at a loss...
