I have a 2008 Mazda6, 4cyl. I know these cars aren't really all that fast, but it used to get up to 60 in about 10-12 seconds when I first got the car a year ago. Now, the seconds are being dragged out a bit (haven't actually counted, but I really should).
When I use the manual option, I get up to a high RPM with little acceleration benefit, and the same effect goes for the automatic option. As well, shifting gives a little jerk. Not the good kind of hard-catch, but as if it's slipping. Could this be a transmission thing?
It probably needs a tune-up and I know it needs an oil change, but the effect the car is having seems a bit much for these two to be the culprit.
