dont answer if your just going to say something like i love deathnote or how could you hate it i respect the animators skill but the plot is crap

Eh I was thinking about this the other day, honestly I enjoyed it, I didnt love it, I really thought the first 15 or probably less eps were amazing and set up the anime for something amazing, and then it shoots of. Misa was an annoying addition, but I guess needed, then the evil corporation which felt like filler, L dies, add 2 more new Kiras, Mello ad Near were decent but still (and I liked Near, but im saying in terms of overall fanbase). I do incredibly hate it when people call this anime intelligent or the smartest ever, so stupid. You cant call an anime where the chracters apparently come to a conclusion that is impossible to arrive and still come out right, an example is how L immediately knew Misa was the second Kira, great telepathy powers. The animation wasnt amazing, it was good, bit nothing breathtaking, the soundtrack, aside from L's theme and the second OP, easily forgettable.

All in all I liked it to a certain point, even though watching the last 10 or so eps felt more like a chore than anything, but I still think its insanely overrated, borderline Naruto id even say.

I personally like it. I like all the character, well minus misa, but I like the plot. Its not for everyone though. Just like anything else out there. Just like I hate football, especially collage football. But there are some rabid fans out there. Its not for everyone.

I like each character especially L. I like the game of cat and mouse. I think they went into great detail. I didn't like the story after L. To me it felt rushed. But there are people who like Near and Mello more than L.

The Storyline didn't make me feel dumb. I could understand the storyline. Like I said, its not for everyone. Just like murder mysteries. Death Note is a Psychological thriller. Normally Thrillers focus on Plot over Characters but Psychological thrillers tend to focus Characters over plot. Sometimes the suspense comes from within one solitary character where characters must resolve conflicts with their own minds. Psychological are of course related to the mind or processes of the mind. So some people may not find it as interesting. Especially if they prefer action anime.

I happen to find Psychological thrillers very interesting. Such as director Stanley Kubrick who directed 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut and A Clockwork Orange. As well as Alfred Hitchcock and M. Night Shyamalan. And I even enjoy reading books by Stephen King, Carrie, Cycle of the Werewolf, Thinner and more are usually considered as horror novels, but his books often focus on the protagonist(s) and antagonist(s), their origins, backgrounds for character development. To me, getting into the mind of a killer or the hunter is much more interesting than the act itself.

I can understand why some people wouldn't like Death Note. What is sad is that you won't even explain what part of it you don't like. Other than the plot. Well what part of the plot? But who cares. Personally I think you just posted this question to get on people nerves, but who cares about that too.

BTW to the person below me, uh nobody I think. Its not that sitting normally affects him. Sitting like that keeps his mental focus. Its uncomfortable so therefor it helps him keep focus. Its kinda like staying up all night. If you're trying to stay up for 24 hours, which is easier, Laying down and getting comfortable in a dark room or being uncomfortable, turning the lights on. Chances are if you are trying to stay up, you don't want to make your body comfortable. Its kinda the same for him.

i dislike deathnote because it tries to explore the characters psyche and corruption by the book but does so badly. light for instance starts out as a young man full of himself in the first episode then quickly degenerates to homicidal maniac with a messiah complex in the first 30minutes of viewing. this should have been drawn out more and shown as a gradual change but it wasn't and this makes it seem kinda cheesy and awkward. the dialogue also is unnatural and the animation is a matter of taste- it wasn't terrible although at times expressions became too exaggerated and cartoony, just nothing special about it. the way lights nemesis l is portrayed also lets the shows attempt at seriousness down. he looks like a gothic clown to be honest and acts like he's not totally mentally capable- whose reasoning ability is negativly affected by sitting normally? i didn't like it and only watched a handful of episodes.

Well, Deathnote it pretty good, even though I've only watched the first 9 episodes, but to me, it makes me feel stupid 'cause of how smart L and Light are!! Like the producers are trying to make us seem dumb and offended!!
Honestly, I'd prefer Naruto and Naruto Shippuden over that crap! X(

I think death note is the stupidest anime EVER! I mean really? a book where you right someones name and they die... it would have been an okay anime if the actual animation was drawn better... and if the book didnt have so many stupid rules!

I liked it, but a lot of people don't like it... especially because of the ending. I think it could have been better, but I can't say that I hate it. It's gotten overrated though.
