So I was invited to church by one of my friends and I went reluctantly. It's this little bitty country church wih maybe 20 members and most of them are related to the pastor.

Well my friend's younger sister got into an argument with her mom and before the service her mom told the pastor about it. Well during the service the pastor randomely walks back to were this girl is sitting minding her own business and puts his hand on her head and starts "praying" for her saying crap like "Satan let go of this girl. Satan get out of this girl." INTO THE MIC so the whole church can hear. Basically acting like she's posessed because she got into an argument.

Everybody turned around and looked at her like she was crazy. She went in the bathroom and started crying. The douchebag pastor hasn't even apologized.

There is no reason to criticize the minister without knowing exactly what the sister said and without obtaining the ministers opinion. The Holy Spirit gives some the ability to detect the presence of satanic demons in individuals and this minister might be one of them.

The answers should be interesting.

They will probably say that the pastor doesn't represent true Christianity. However, let one crackpot Muslim imam make ridiculous statements and they condemn the whole of Islam on the basis of one man.

Not all pastors are like that, he is just a pastor that probably doesn't know what he is doing

I don't believe that I have to justify his actions, as I don't agree with them and do not support the ideas that he obviously supports. (One guy is convicted of murder, just because he was born in Africa doesn't mean that all of Africa has to believe the same things he did or believe that his action was justified, please stop being ridiculous)

Why do Christians have to justify an idiot Christian? I assume you're an atheist - do you have to account for idiot atheists? Do you even have to account for idiot relatives?

No. The pastor alone must answer for his actions.

He SHOULD have talked to the PRIVATELY and MAYBE have done it then. He was insensitive and made the girl part of his "Circus Act". I agree with you. It should have been handled with a lot more thought and empathy.

We get lessons in life to show us what not to do and correct mistakes. Did you talk with her, do you know what to say? Jesus singled out many Jews in authority which were in error. Preaching the Bible does not make you perfect. The devil can cite scripture for his purpose...Shakespeare.

It should only substantiate one thing, just because you have a 'Rev.' in front of your name doesn't mean you can't act like a 'JERK'. But you can look at it this way, "We are all sinners and fall short of the Glory of God." Romans 3:23 You can find Doctors that don't know their business and painters who don't know how to paint, it's the way of the world. That Pastor needs your prayer [not] that young girl.

My dear, it is not up to me to justify every action by every Christian on the planet. Do I think he was out of line? Of course I do.

I don't justify what that pastor did and if it were me, I would never go back to that church.

Unfortunately there are still churches like that these days.
I could say that would never happen in my church.
