So I need help instilling a specific habit for when I argue?

Apparently when i get offended or excited in a debate I tend to disregard the other's opinion and become very stubborn. This is something thats going to take a while to work on, but I am determined. What are some tips and tricks I can use of ways of adapting a habit to not become so stubborn in debates and take the other's opinion into deep consideration? I need to work on debating with less emotion and more rationality.
