Soap film is covering my dishes, what can I do?

My dishwasher leaves a film on all my glasses/pans/etc.I actually have to scrub the residue off. I've tried changing detergents (from powder to liquid) and that has helped a little bit. I've tried rinsing agents, hotter temps, longer cycles and nothing seems to help. Any thoughts?
