I bought a brand new Sony dvd player, after I assumed my other one was broken (for dimming and brightening as well). It has worked fine up until today. I bought a two new dvd's and when they are played, the picture is dark for a few seconds, brightens to normal, and then repeats. I put in a previous disc from the day before, and it works perfectly fine without dimming and brightening. (I also put the new disc into a portable player that I have, and it works perfectly fine in that, so nothing's wrong with the disc itself.) What's going on with the player? I heard something about macrovision and how the dvd player syncs itself to it, reading it like this is how it's supposed to be played. But this is annoying. How do I make it stop? (Connection: Older GE tv, connected via coaxle cable into vcr. VCR red, yellow, and white cables, connected to DVD player.) Thanks for the help!
