Why are mobile phone manufacturers still trying to impress the public by making phones with more and more megapixels. At the end of the day its a phone not a camera. My sis has a sony ericsson with a 8.1 megapixel camera. She was bragging on about the quality of the pictures it snaps and how it was better than my Nikon D40 SLR camera because mine has only got 6.1, until we put them both to the test by taking a identical shot with each camera, sent them for processing to Klick at A3 size. What a suprise the claimed 8.1 phone camera picture was a absolute disgrace you couldnt tell what the picture was. Mine the Nikon D40 was amazing with no distortion at all superb picture.
To be honest I wouldn't waste my money, I dont care if the phone camera had 20 megapixels, it couldn't compete with my SLR camera.

My opinion, this is a money making scam. If you want a camera, buy a proper one and not just some cheap crappy lense stuck on a phone.
