Sony Ericsson w508i help!?

Hello! In October, I got a new Sony Ericsson w508i. This phone is basically built for music, so I immediately started downloading songs on to it. One day, I wanted to use a song to use as a ring tone, but it said the file was too big. So does anyone know how to turn an MP3 file into an MIDI or M4A file?
