Sony Ericsson WTA Rankings ?

The Sony Ericsson WTA Tour rankings are tough to figure out, unlike the ATP rankings. Tell me if this is the correct way to do it:

5. Ana Ivanovic 6732 pts before the Australian Open
subtract 1400 points for making last year's final and add on 160 points for losing in the 3rd Round. That comes out 5492 points when the new rankings come out. Is this right?
 
Yes, that's it. A player's points are counted over their performances in every tournament she's entered over the past year (52 weeks), so after every tournament she loses all the points she's got from it the year before and, at the same time, gains the amount correspondent to her performance in the current edition. Same thing with the ATP rankings.
