SPDIF output help for Samsung television?

I connect my ps3 to my Samsung ln55c630 television via HDMI, then my television to my audio receiver via optical out on my television. This lets me listen to programs on the television and ps3 on my surround sound system without having to keep swapping out the cables from the receiver to the ps3 or to the television.

Okay now here is the problem. My television has a setting for SPDIF that allows you to change the output from PCM or Dolby Digital. Currently on the television I am only able to select PCM as my output. This is bad because PCM only outputs in 2 channel audio and I have to convert it to "virtual surround sound" on my receiver.

So my question is, does anyone know if it is possible to change my televisions output to Dolby Digital, and if so, how would I go about doing this.

Again, the television model is "Samsung ln55c630" and I don't think I mentioned it but my receiver only has 1 optical input on it.
