stability ball workout beginner?

i just found my mom's un-used 65cm Reebok Stayball( it has sand to keep it form rolling away) and i think it would be perfect for me to use. the times i can work out are when my mom's asleep so this would be quiet and hopefully help me since i'm new to getting in shape. Can someone help me with this though?

*does it tone your whole body? or just your core?
* is there a quiet cardio workout you can do with it?
* i'm 5'7" and 145, i'd like to lose some weight and be more toned( my tummy and butt mostly lol) will i see this before summer?
