Street Fashion Photography: What kind of legal permission do you need?

To post street fashion photos on a website of my own, what kind of legal permissions would I need from the individual?
- verbal consent
- written/ signed contract?

Please provide accurate information.

You should always get a signed model release anytime you photograph someone if you ever intend to use the photos for any purpose - especially to sell them or post them for public viewing.
