strep throat relief?

i went to the doctor today and i have a sever case of strep throat as well as a inflated tonsil and and huge puss pocket next to my tonsil.she gave me some type of steriods and anti-biotics but besides that what can i do to ease the pain? i can barley eat or drink...it hurts so bad

yea I know how u feel i had this as well. What i did i brought this throat spray from the chemist and it numbs where you spray it really helps because you dnt have to suck on anything or swallow anything. The people at the chemist will know what is best and should know what it is. I avoided any diary as well because it thick and sticks to the throat. i know it sounds funny but baby food was easy to get down.
