what is not connected in any way with submarine, hot spring vents?

black smokers on a mid-ocean ridge
thick turbidites on the continental rise
rich in metallic sulfides
ecological communities living without photosynthesis

Turbidites are sediments which are transported and deposited by density flow, usually as the result of avalanches at the continental rise.
