Although the novels 'Cue for Treason' and 'The Merchant of Venice' do not seem to have much in common, in actuality they both (among other things) hold characters who find themselves in a situation of forced marriage. However, when comparing both character's situations, Geoffry Trease's character finds herself in a worse situation than that of the character from the 'Merchant of Venice'.
