sometime soon i am travelling round Nepal and Bhutan. i intend to spend about 2 months out there (unless anyone thinks i should be there longer?) probably from early March to early May (just before monsoon time!) i will be spending the vast majority of my time in Nepal as Bhutan is sooo tiny and i think they only do 14 day visas to start with, but that's plenty of time to see it all i think.
i would love to know a rough route to take. i assume i'll fly in and out of Kathmandu, so from there as a start and finish (including a 10 or so day trip in and out of Bhutan) what should i do in 2 months?
i'm not a massive trekker, but i do really want to go on some little (say a day or 3 long) ones so i can experience little hill villages and see the sights etc. so no Everest base camp stuff! (although that'd be pretty cool if it was easier).
i dont intend to be in a hurry while i'm out there, so if i'm staying somewhere that i can see in 3 days, i will most likely be staying there a week.
also, how should i get from place to place? tourist buses? any cheap internal flights that will be necessary?
and how should i get in and out of Bhutan? and what shall i do there? as i may be in a rush to see it all in 12 days?
i will be accompanied throughout this journey by a friend, it'll be the two of us doing all this (if that makes a difference to any advice you might give me)
any advice with money? like how much i can live off (with haggling)
Thanks!
Joe
