Summer holidays in Nice France.?

I'm thinking of going on holiday with my boyfriend to Nice in August this year. We're on a pretty low budget but I've found a really great Hostel and fairly cheap flights but I was wondering how much eating out, etc, everything is there!

Any tips or anything at all would be brill! Thanks :)
