Supplements purchased from GNC expired?

I found a bottle of GNC Nutrex supplements that I purchased with a buy one get one 1/2 off coupon, and completely forgot about. It says they expired 9/2009. Do you think it's still ok to take them? The bottle was around $60...so I would rather not throw them away if they might still be good.
