Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I am working on my final project for a sociology class "Marriage & Intimacy". We are going to compile the information gathered here and write a report on our findings and relate it to what we've read in class.

Age:
Gender:
Ethnicity:
Marital Status: (can mean single, married, divorced, re-married, widow(ed), or co-habitating please be specific)
Living Arrangement: (can mean living alone, with spouse, seperate from spouse, with partner, with extended family please be specific)

Please tell us the 3 most important things you look for in a marriage or commited relationship. Please also explain why they are so important to you.

The more detailed the information you give, either about your demographics or the 3 most importnat things, the better for our results. I am asking people to be long-winded and extremely specific. We are trying to see how the purpose of marriage has changed over time. Hundreds of years ago people married for financial or political gains. Marriages were orchestrated by parents to further their goals in life. Marriage had nothing to do with love, it was all about getting ahead in life. Marrying daughters off to neighbors families that have field plots next to their own so as to join the fields and become prosperous. Today, love is why most people get married. And those getting married choose for themselves who they marry for "selfish" reasons (reasons for the self and the self alone). We want to know what people look for in lasting relationships today and why.

Thank you to all that help us in our quest to better understand marriage and commited relationships in today's societies.
