I was driving home last night and of all the times for this to happen we have a terrible thunder storm.
What happens is the battery light comes on every now and then and while the battery light is on, the head lights shut off. Probably the stupidest design I have ever seen. Im sure theres better ways to save power in a car at night.
I checked the battery/alternator this morning and I cant figure it out. Im probably over looking something simple.
Battery (Engine Off) : 12.86v
Battery @ Idle: ~14.35v
I do remember hearing a squeaking which Im almost certain is the belt and the power steering got heavier. Is it that the belt was slipping on the PS Pump and the alternator due to the moisture (I was going through puddles a few inches deep by accident..couldnt see)
