My contract with T-Mobile ends on February 28th. I want to cancel my phone line because I'm unsatisfied with the service. I know if I cancel after Feb I don't have to pay the early termination fee. How early do I have to call them and tell them I no longer want their service? Usually even after my contract is up they continue to bill me as normal. I really want to break away from T-Mobile as soon as I can, so if I want to end it on Feb 28th, when do I let them know and will they give me a hard time even though my contract is over? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

From my experience, you could call them today and tell them that after Feb 28th, you want your service canceled. Just make sure to verify that you won't get hit with a cancellation fee. Document the rep's name and time you called for future reference.

FYI, if you plan on transferring your existing number to a new provider. You MUST do that before you cancel your current service.

For example:

Your contract ends on Feb 28th. And you want to switch to Verizon Wireless and keep your number. You must sign up for new service after Feb 28th AND prior to canceling your T-Mobile service. If you port your number from T-Mobile to Verizon prior to Feb 28th, you will get hit with a cancellation fee from T-Mobile.

Hope that helps and let me know if you need anymore help!

Mine also ends on the 26 th THANK GOD. Their service stinks compared to other Company's. I have been told by one of their advisers I have to phone up on the day of the end of contract to cancel. Take no Crap from them, tell them on the 28 th you don't want them END OF STORY.

Don't let them try and persuade you and look elsewhere for a better deal.

Good Luck
