T-Mobile question - switching phones while under contract?

On December 13th, 2007, I had gotten a Sidekick Slide with a two year contract. However, the Slide is faulty and resets randomly. I would like to get a Sidekick LX. Could I change phones while under contract? If so, could I take my Slide in and get the LX for the $100 difference? Or do I have to pay the full price? Please help.
 
Yes, you can change your phone if you are still under contract, but you would have to pay full retail price for the phone you want.
Have you try warranty exchange with T-Mobile?
Or you can sell your Sidekick Slide on eBay, and use some of that money to buy the Sidekick LX.
