Take a Tylenol PM okay?

I have a horrible headache, and my dad said I should take a Tylenol PM because ibuprofen doesnt work for me. My mom won't let me take one though because she says its "bad for me, because its a sleeping pill". im 14. how would taking one pill to get rid of my headache be bad for me? im in a lot of pain
