Alright, now, knowing me, I will go into a HUGE argument about this.

Okay, I have nothing against Peeta, but I think he should have died of blood poisoning. Just saying.
Anyways, Gale and Katiniss have so much in common. First off, both of their dads died in the same mining accident, and they where both the oldest kids to loose their father. Also, Gale helped Katniss learn to hunt even better, and think about it. Ever heard "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime"? Well, this fits well. I mean, what would Help her in the long run? And notice in "The Hunger Games" that Katniss could not stop thinking about Gale? And how she thought about him when she was kissing Peeta? Hmm?
Also, Gale is devoted to Katniss. He took two bullets for her! (In Mockingjay) And he has loved her since that day in the Hob. And when she killed Coin, she was calling for who? Gale. Not Peeta. And there is no proof that the bomb was Gale's, and that it killed sweet little Prim. And Katniss even thought that if she never went to the games, she would have fallen in love and married Gale! Also, when Gale kissed Katniss in Catching Fire, she thought that it was pointless comparing it to all of the kisses with Peeta! Do I dare add that Peeta was jealous? He told Katniss to leave when Gale was whipped, possibly risking Gale's life, he always thought that Katniss was with Gale (If only, if only.) And all that stuff.
Oh, and let's not forget that Peeta tried to KILL Katniss. And has Gale ever hurt Katniss? (Besides the bombing, which was emotional) NO.

And to be honest, you gotta feel bad for Gale. Lost the love of his life. And after she actually fell for him.
