Telus Resign Contract?

I have an lg dare on a 2 year contract with telus, and was looking to upgrade to a blackberry. I am about 1 year 3 months into the contract. Will they allow me to resign at this point or do they only allow you to upgrade at the 18 month mark?

If so, will they allow me to switch ownership to my brother so I can resign after he takes over my phone?

You usually have to wait until there is 6 months remaining on your contract to renew. If you don't want to wait, there is a fee of $10 x remaining number of months on your contract.

If you transfer the contract to your brother's name, then you will be contract free and you can do whatever you want.
