She had told me she had a lot of things to tell me, things that could not be said through the phone. I stood there, waiting for her to show up on the bridge we had decided to come to. The wind breezed against my hair as I flipped it back, jutting out at the sides of it like a bunch of swords scattering around it. I tucked my ponytail behind my left ear and twisted it a couple of times while waiting. The dark waves under the bridge crashed against each other, flowing where it was blown as the water percolated down through the fissures of the rocks that were half way buried in the sand along the shore. It took her longer than she had said it would to get to the bridge, but she found things to complain on as an excuse for her lateness. Her words came out in a whisper as my eyes scanned the beautiful features of her face. The makeup she had worn on it smoothed out the wrinkles that seemed to spread across her forehead, puckering into a few lines that clung all the way up to the hair which appeared to be brushed aside as she raised her eyebrow. I cracked a smile and held up a finger to run it through her hair. She took a step back and slid her hand down the edge of it. I stared at her for a long moment, folding the arm that had reached out to touch her, and shoved it in my rear pocket. "Good" she mumbled in a high voice that allowed me to listen. "Keep it there" She continued, getting louder. I wanted to ask her what she had wanted to tell me. I opened my mouth and paused as the words slip out of hers and told me the reason she had asked me to get here for, although I did not want to know it. "It's over"
