Are there any similarities between the kanji you learn for the HSK Level A (roughly 800 kanji if I remember) and the JLPT level 4 test or any JLPT test for that matter. I always hear that japanese kanji bases a lot of the characters off of chinese kanji so would learning the HSK Level A benefit me in anyway? I ask this because my friend has a lot of guides and books on HSK characters and I am taking Japanese classes and wondering if it would just make sense to look over some HSK before my classes next year.
Thanks.
