Come, tell me your single-use kitchen gadget beef! Is it the pineapple slicer? The apple corer? The electric can opener? Is it Jamie Oliver's new ceramic ball shaker that performs only one function of a mortar and pestle, and none of the others... at twice the price?

besides that I'd say I saw something called Handy Peel—textured gloves that are meant to replace a vegetable peeler
 
Sorry - not a cook.......bought a condo furnished and the previous owner left drawers full of gadgets......but I don't know what most of them are !! So far, have only figured out one thing is for crushing garlic & another for nutmeg. Have a Cuisinart toaster, toaster-oven, a blender, a slicer and other things I'll never use.

BUT I'll say that the BEST. GREATEST thing is the Cuisinart rice cooker: no more messing with pots and boil this then adding that and turning it down: you just dump the rice & water in the thing & turn it on and it senses how much you're making, boils, cooks, turns down to warm - it's FAB. Plus - stainless steel on the outside, non-stick on the inside so you just rinse it out. RIce every day !!
 
Those frozen pizza baking things that sit on top of the counter. It's not better than an oven.
 
I'll throw a vote in for the slap chop and the magic bullet.
