Sorry - not a cook.......bought a condo furnished and the previous owner left drawers full of gadgets......but I don't know what most of them are !! So far, have only figured out one thing is for crushing garlic & another for nutmeg. Have a Cuisinart toaster, toaster-oven, a blender, a slicer and other things I'll never use.
BUT I'll say that the BEST. GREATEST thing is the Cuisinart rice cooker: no more messing with pots and boil this then adding that and turning it down: you just dump the rice & water in the thing & turn it on and it senses how much you're making, boils, cooks, turns down to warm - it's FAB. Plus - stainless steel on the outside, non-stick on the inside so you just rinse it out. RIce every day !!
