Call me a judgmental a-hole, but I think AOL’s new branding will be a LOL. The beleaguered* online and media services company will now act independently, spinning off from Time Warner. To mark this change, the familiar blue triangle will disappear—replaced by a totally minimalist logo. Well, it’s not really a logo, because the new AOL branding involves plastering what’s spelled out as “Aol.” (in Arial) over various objects, apparently to reflect the new company’s dynamic and ever-changing nature.
