The Offline Mode on a Samsung G600 phone.... ?

Ok what it is, I have a Samsung G600 mobile phone and I've had it for a while now.

I'd just like to know what the point in "offline mode" is? When you're in offline mode you cannot dial numbers, send/read text messages or do anything with it basically... This to me seems pointless, but I did have one suggestion. Maybe it's so you cannot receive calls while doing something else on the phone, e.g. listening to music or playing a game.

I dunno, does anyone else know what offline mode is for? Thanks. =]
 
Since airlines prohibit cell phone use the off-line mode or flight mode is an option so you can still use other functions of your phone like games and music while on an airline.
