i was drying my clothes and at that time it worked just fine. after my clothes dried i put in the towels..1 towel fell over to the back side of my dryer and so i used a broom to try and hook the towel out. i was having a hard time and i was being kinda abusive to the towel. finally i got it out..i put the towel with the rest of the towels. i press the on button for the drying machine and it wouldnt turn on!

and so i went and check around for clues of why it wont turn on and i looked in the back..the vent was ripped because of my abusive behavior*chuckle*...and so...im guessing my drying machine wont turn on because the vent is ripped. is that possible? so if i just replace the vent..does that mean my problem will be solved? any explanation or tips? thanks in advance.

I guess the belt drive was damaged.
That sounds like too much force was used.

I had no idea that a vent rip would stop a dryer. . .So when the mouse came in a gnawed a hole in the vent, the dryer should have stopped. . .Not so! Tape the hole with duct tape. Sure you can replace the vent but I assume you mean the tubing that leads out of the dryer. Everyone should have duct tape around. There are 1001 uses for it. . .maybe more. . .
