...Applications Install DVD on my old mac? Okay so I've had a 20 inch iMac for about 1 year.

My dad JUST bought a 27 inch iMac, it comes with 2 Installation DVD's which are Mac OS X and Applications Install DVD and it also came with an iLife 11 installation DVD.
I don't have Snow Leopard or iLife 11 installed. I figured my computer is only 1 year old and I BARELY have anything on it. I would like to erase everything and install the Mac OS X using my dad's installation dvd's from his new 27 inch iMac including iLife 11. Is it possible to use his discs and install it on mines? I basically want to erase everything, start fresh and upgrade my computer.
