It's a matter of personal preference. Both of the phones are amazing to be honest. Android is an open platform which means it's easier to install external software and Apps go unrestricted. Android phones in general do have their downsiders though. When you purchase the phone it will come with an Android version installed. Google develops the software but does not make it compatible with all of the Android phones since there are over 75 in existence. What this means is that the maker of your phone, in your case Motorola has to update the phone themselves. They would have to make the newest version of Android compatible with your existing phone since they are all different. What ends up happening is that many times phone makers will drop support for a phone since they no longer want to have to update it. iPhones on the other hand have been continuously supported over the years which guarantees you will at least have the newest and best. The iPhone also has a lot more Apps, over 300,000 compared to Android's 150,000. Apple apps generally cost money, about $.99 compared to most of Androids free apps. However, the ones on Apple are for the most part function much better. The reason is simple, developers for the iPhone have to make their games function smoothly for less devices. As of now, there's the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad. It's easier to make a game/app work smoothly for three devices compared to Android's 75+. Apple is a lot more controlling in the sense they limit what you can put on your phone. However, in my experience, I've learned that jailbreaking an iPhone gives you the best phone experience you could possibly have as of yet. I've owned several Android phones (G1, MyTouch, Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy) and all of the Apple iPhones. I've concluded that the iPhone is actually more user-friendly and entertaining. Don't let anyone else tell you what phone to get. It's up to your personal preference. You should get a phone you'll truly enjoy. The Phone Nerd's answer is clearly biased and in favor of Android. So you should go to the store and test them out a little bit to see which you like more.
