The reason im writing this is to open up eyes of uptight people who constantly insist on being ignorant on certain subjects, without knowing completely what they are. I have had a few arguments with people about certain types of drugs. The one i'm ranting about today is marijuana. Bad drug maybe in the long run, but how do you know it is really bad, you go by what the media and the government tells you, but do you personally know it is bad from your own experience. Now I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but exactly how valid is it if you have never tried marijuana. one reason i think people should open their eyes id this...if this drug was such a bad drug why does the government prescribe it to glaucoma patients for example, and two if it is so bad why has no one died from using it alone without any other substance. I agree some people have different reactions to it but i have smoked weed for over a year and look at me i have a great job in the medical field.
I have a wonderful boyfriend I have been with for over 2 years. I have no debts, I have lots of friends, a great social life. I figure I kill brain cells everyday by inhaling ciggarette smoke anyway so smoking weed wont do much that inhaling a cigg second hand cant do better. Not to mention most people drink alcohol which kills many more brain cells then smoking pot. That is my rant for the day. Feel free to leave your opinion but unless you have smoked pot your opinions are not valid whatsoever and will most likely get a head shake.
Thanks for your unvalid opinion Army Wife, but tell me what the hell do you honestly know, your still going by the media instead of personal experience and that in my book just makes you ignorant to the fullest and does not give you the right to an opinion.

your so right! i hate when people say bad things about it. i know people that have been smoking it heir entire lives and they are fine. It is relaxing and you can't really overdose from smoking it. you'd have to eat over a pound of it to overdose. the stereotypical pot smokers give it a bad rep because if they didn't have the drug I'm sure they'd still be total losers. and if you can't concentrate when you're on it to do your work or get something done then maybe they should consider prioritizing. it's better than drinking and from my experiences it's safer too!

I have never taken any drugs (including the one you mention) but to me, anything that hinders you from functioning normally is bad. My friend used to call me when she was 'high' and it was impossible to have a normal conversation with her. She is close to finishing her PhD now; apparently the "natural" drugs didn't have an effect on her brain but I still don't believe her lifestyle is great.
However, if the drug has a positive effect on people with certain illnesses (meaning it makes pain more bearable) I don't see why it can't be used to treat these people. There are many drugs on the market, such as pain killers, that get people addicted and affects them in a way that they can't function normally w/o the drug.
