I need to know how much is to much for boarding. The people at my local barn do EVERYTHING, and charge $1500 per month, is this to expensive? I'm willing to pay, my horse is a good one, but need opinions.
No critism or rude answers please!

Is your horse a TB race horse if so then no this is not too much but if it's one you ride and show and not race... then Good God where are you boarding? Are the stalls lined with Gold Flake and the stall matts marble or something? They are seriously ripping you off. Transfer stables. I know of NIICE barns here in TN where full board is only 350 a month!!!!!

holy crap!! what kind of barn is it?? heaven??? now i dont know where you live, but around me, for a really really nice boarding stable would at the most be $600-700 a month, that is tops. $1500 is WAY to much, for you to do everything. however the owner of the horse should do everything, but again dont know what kind of barn it is, but wow..id keep your options open

At that price, you could buy your own stable. Seriously, if you financed a stable, your payments would be less than that. It isn't a question of whether or not your horse deserves a top notch place to live--it's more a question of being responsible with your money. Your horse will be just as happy and cared for at a stable that charges less than half that. I boarded at an excellent stable for $215 a month, granted it was in the midwest, so prices are different in other areas. But don't go off the deep end! Find a better barn.

Wow that is wayyyyy too much. I would mention to them that you are looking around because you are able to find much cheaper...maybe telling them that may get them to lower the price...but 1500 is insane!!!! The only reason I could think that they are charging so much is because *maybe* you live in a really prestegious neighborhood

Is that in Pesos?
That's way too expensive.
Unless that includes feed, hay, lush green solitary turn out, 14k platinum shoes, a yellow brick road barn walkway, and magical elves which walk around cleaning up your horse's pristine droppings - I would say check elsewhere.
I pay $425/month for full board at an immaculate facility.
