Hey everyone. I've always signed up with Time Warner cable, and I hate it but I never really knew the alternatives. I currently live in West Los Angeles, and I'm coming to the end of the three month promotion period for my cable TV and I still have three months left on the cable.
I'm pretty satisfied with the internet connection, but I really don't like the TV service. Time Warner just seems very expensive for what they offer. I don't have any premium channels and I just subscribe to the basic internet and pretty soon I'll be paying $100/month.
Can any of you tech heads offer advice on what I should do? I just need basic cable-esque channels (like food network, bravo, etc) and the big HD channels (FOX, ABC, etc) along with high speed internet service. I would be willing to sign up for a local phone line (currently I have no home phone, only cell) and DSL if I felt that the TV service merited it.
Looking to balance low cost with reliable service and avoid the wretched customer service at Time Warner. Thanks for all your help!
