To those who practice Judaism: why do you not follow all of the Law?

Christians usually try to weasel out of following the brutal laws of Deuteronomy and Leviticus (you know, like stoning rebellious children and the guidelines for selling your daughter into slavery, etc) with the "Jesus gave us a new convenant" or something else like that.

However, what methodology do you guys use for following the rules for not eating pork or lobster, then ignore the other nastier commandments?

What I mean is, since you guys don't have the Jesus excuse to use, why do you skip eating pork because of the laws of the Bible, but then dismiss other laws that are in the same exact section of the bible?

It is allowed to :-)
The most beautiful religion. Very flexible.

And by the way, honestly, Jews obey more laws then people in any other religion.
At least we are not coming up with new ridiculous ones.

Stoning women to death and not eating pork are Eastern traditional laws; not religious.
Deuteronomy and Leviticus are mostly Eastern traditional laws; the true Jewish religious guide is the 10 commandments as given to Moses.
Mohammad never approved of stoning women to death but after he died, his followers reinstated the old tradition.
The main reason why Jesus was killed is because he condemned the Jewish Rabbis for using tradition laws instead of Religious.

if you able to follow one universal law i.e the unconditional love, all the other laws will associate with that.
here in Hinduism we believe that equally. No need to follow scripture like a robot.realization is important

i will assume you mean the sacrifices
personally, i am against the idea of not doing them, but if i were to try to do an offering in any of the locations, there would be SEVERE ramifications

according to Judahism, when the Temple was first built by Solomon, it was established then and there that they only place allowed to do an offering was THERE, in that location.............and since there is no Temple currently, the offerings have been discontinued until the time when the Temple is rebuilt, which Jeremiah prophesied of

it kills me, that i am not allowed to go up and make an offering, but religious law is religious law

Deuteronomy 17 places the authority into the hands of the Sanhedrin............let me restate, GOD placed the authority to make laws, into the hands of the Sanhedrin, and according to Deuteronomy 17, whatever laws they establish, are to be followed to the letter, under pain of death.........EVEN IF their laws go against the Torah, Israel is to abide by the laws established by the Sanhedrin

the reason is to prevent any yahoo from coming up and claiming, "i spoke with God and he said blah, and blah blah".................as much as i might disagree with their laws, i am bound, by Torah, to adhere to all that they say
