Many newer radios have, as an anti-theft feature, that they disable themselves on a power failure, and have to have a password entered to re-enable them. Yours may be one of these.
 
try to reset the radio. there should be a reset button to push.
 
You have to restart the radio on your panel. There's usually a password on the new cars if that's what you have. Check the manual, when you get a new battery or start it up the radio usually resets.
