I gotta 92 4x4 toyota x-cab, 5 speed, 3" body, 4" suspension lift, 3.0 liter v6 on 35" tires with stock gears =[. She doesnt do too bad in lo-range (got her burried to the frame =P ), but I have to admit daily driving its kind of a gutless blunder. And im' getting between 10-13 mpg depending on where and how I drive it. I'm trying to decide if I should re-gear it, or put a different motor in. Haven't really decided on what motor would be going in it, prolly a 4.3, 305, or 350. I know a guy with a 350 and 39.5 baja claws thats claiming 10mpg...anyone on here done a swap and what kinda mileage are you gettin? Any chance of pulling the same mileage with a larger displacement?

and no need to worry about the ifs, a SAS will be done if I do the swap.

thanks in advance.

With 35 inch tires you need some gear ratios in the mid 500d's if you want to go.
