toyota celica st, valve seal leaks and known problems?

hi im thinking of buying a celica st 1.8 on a 1996. is there any common faults with these cars?
as ive heard they can have a common fault with valve seal leaks and burning oil is this true?
 
If the car is not burning more than one quart of engine oil every 900 miles, I wouldn't worry about the oil seals leaking and the engine is in good shape on that basis. Even a new engine is allowed to burn that much oil according to the manufacturers. To check for common problems:
